"Our client was based in Melbourne and was relying on us to build and paint a texture coated ModularWalls® to match the colour and textured render of his house.
He also wanted an automated sliding gate to keep his two dogs in when they moved in to their Perth residence.
All the correspondence was done via emails along with the drawings so he was really trusting us to come up with what he had envisioned.
There was slight slope on the front boundary and not a great deal of room so we had to install a concrete plinth between the retaining wall and the modular wall which had a very narrow space but we managed to fit this in with the gate track all within the boundary of his property!
Bryan had to calculate the angle of the slope and provide the exact dimensions and fall calculations so the fabricator could get this spot on. You may note there is a perforated bottom section on the slatted gate as slats must run parallel to the bottom rail and this was not possible due to the required angle of the bottom rail so the perforated bottom panel was a great solution to this problem.
We were very happy and breathed a sigh of relief when the gate arrived and run perfectly along the track on the same gradient as the road. Due to the slope we had to purchase an industrial size motor to ensure the gate would slide up the slope for many years to come.
To make this more challenging, the street is also very narrow which proved difficult for access and parking for trades vehicles.
There were many, many challenges including a lot of rainy days on this job but we still managed to complete the job within the required time.
The customer moved in the following week and is very happy with it."
