Our V.I.P. F&HM customer in Perth, had a pretty extensive fencing job, but she struggled with finding a solution. Dealing with previous tradies who did not listen to her problem let alone offer a solution!
"Bryan, tell us more about this project?"
“Rachel needed two types of fence. She wanted to extend the Colorbond boundary fence between her neighbour but her main project was to figure out some kind of front feature fence that would give her some privacy from the traffic on a busy road as well as something aesthetically pleasing to the eye as she didn’t have any backyard and all her outdoor space was in the front yard.”
“Her local council would only allow a solid fence to be 1.2m high. She wanted to go higher and also wanted a low maintenance fence. We discussed a few options and we came up with the Polvin PVC Fence.”
Rachel was very impressed with Bryan’s idea ability to listen to her requirements.
And further more Karen, came up with the solution!
“Karen tell us more about how you came up with your client’s solution:”
“I explained the situation to our contact at Polvin who then forwarded me some photos of some of their various styles that they had completed that were not on their website. I loved the look of a particular fence style and thought it would suit Rachel’s idea of what she wanted for her place. I then sent this through to Rachel as well as the others for her thoughts.”
“She was very thankful for sending through some new options and was very interested in one photo that I had mentioned I thought would suit her property. “
The next step after choosing the type of fence, was getting this through Rachel's council’s long list of approval process.
After a lot of correspondence with the local council, Bryan had to determine the exact layout of the fence and supply drawings of what it would look like, right down to the exact dimensions of the rails, picket size and gaps for council approval.
Bryan explained “This was a very lengthy and drawn out process and we all had to have a great amount of patience.”
During this time Bryan had to return many times to re-measure and mark out her front boundary. He also offered to supply the council on her behalf: aerial photographs with the new fence boundary drawn onto them, detailed drawings and elevations of the fence and how it would sit and look on the property.
Once the council was finally satisfied, this was approved.
Rachel is thrilled with her new fence! Check out her feedback below:
“I had a fairly extensive fencing job and I wasn't entirely sure of the best way to go about it. I got a few quotes but Bryan was the only one who really took the time to listen to my (terribly vague!) ideas and offer a range of options. And in fact, it was Karen who suggested the winning solution!
I required two different fence types, one of which Bryan hadn't installed before, and he went above and beyond to make sure it all worked out smoothly.
So, FYI, he is now a pro at installing Polvin fencing! Karen kept me updated along the way and made all the paperwork really easy too which was a huge relief."
"So, between them, I'm very grateful for the brilliant fence that I have now!"
