This is part of our first home reno series. Please remember to read our "Reno & Home Improvement Advice" blog before you attempt such a large project on your own.
From Overgrown and Tacky to Sleek and Refined!
The Brief:
To have a low maintenance garden and house exterior in general with some unique and niche touches to it whilst tying all into the rear of the property.
The Journey:
This project was a HUGE amount of work but like any journey it has to start with a first step so to begin with an out of control ficus creeper needed to be removed from the front fence, retainer walls and front patio area, this was a complete bugger of a job but very necessary in order to stop damage to all it clung to and to obtain the final look.
From there, the driveway left hand garden needed to be cleared along with two huge lilly pilly trees at the front gate that were ripping up the old driveway with their root systems that also managed to block the old ceramic drain pipes. The top garden area was also stripped of all vegetation except the central mulberry tree.
The old wrought iron banister on the front porch was also removed along with the guttering as was the front door along with all front windows and frames.
The driveway was also ripped up completely, so as to be widened and replaced with high end pebble mix type that would now extend all the way to the road.
Now all was stripped back, we set about replacing and rejuvenating the entire front and sides plus bricked rear area of the house that would make it a home instead!
