This is part of our first home reno series. Please remember to read our "Reno & Home Improvement Advice" blog before you attempt such a large project on your own.
From Overgrown and Tacky to Sleek and Refined!
To have a low maintenance garden and house exterior in general with some unique and niche touches to it whilst tying all into the rear of the property.
This project was a HUGE amount of work but like any journey it has to start with a first step so to begin with an out of control ficus creeper needed to be removed from the front fence, retainer walls and front patio area, this was a complete bugger of a job but very necessary in order to stop damage to all it clung to and to obtain the final look.
From there, the driveway left hand garden needed to be cleared along with two huge lilly pilly trees at the front gate that were ripping up the old driveway with their root systems that also managed to block the old ceramic drain pipes. The top garden area was also stripped of all vegetation except the central mulberry tree.
The old wrought iron banister on the front porch was also removed along with the guttering as was the front door along with all front windows and frames.
The driveway was also ripped up completely, so as to be widened and replaced with high end pebble mix type that would now extend all the way to the road.
Now all was stripped back, we set about replacing and rejuvenating the entire front and sides plus bricked rear area of the house that would make it a home instead!

From quote to erected replacement gate, the service and courteous professionalism provided by Bryan and Karen is and was exemplary. Suggestions by Bryan made style, colour and type of gate replacement materials made for an easy selection plus the price was outstanding. Attention to detail which included site clean up and removal of old gate made for a pleasant surprise. A job made tricky by underground water pipes well and truly done. Excellent! We were very pleased with our new fence constructed by Shaun Smiley, he was a pleasure to deal with and very professional from quoting to installing the excellent quality fence. We wanted to save some plants, and Shaun worked around our wishes to our delight. He is a pleasure to have around when working, no loud music or bad language. I would highly recommend Shaun Smiley.

VIP Fencing (Matt Couper) was quick to respond to my request for a quote. They visited within a day and the quote was emailed right away. Changes requested by the neighbours were happily accommodated, and the prices were competitive. Most pleasingly, Matt set a day to do the work, and was there on time and on the day stated. I cannot actually recall the last time a tradie did that. He worked hard all day, and finished after dark. Very well done and left the site tidy. And on top of that he was friendly and accommodating. Can't ask for more. If you want a fence done for a good price, with a good result, on time as promised, then Matt is the bloke to speak to. Thanks Matt.

Very Highly Recommended. As an engineer I am highly fussy about building works I invest in, and Clint exceeded my expectations in both the solid structural work put in, and extra care in achieving an exceptional visual finish. I felt I got twice the value worth for what I paid. Clint was one of the founding contractors that helped set the standards for all of VIP Fencing, and the exceptional reviews they get are a result of those high standards. Happy to respond in more detail to anyone wanting a reference. Thanks Clint!
